Ava Obermueller moved to Corpus Christi approximately two years ago from San Antonio. She is a former resident. Her husband Dale is CEO of Radiology & Imaging of South Texas. Ava was a litigation specialist with Allstate. Her original home town is Garden City, Kansas. They have one son, Trent, who is 27 and a UT Finance and Pre-Med graduate. Ava enjoys shopping, travel, and food. She volunteers for her church and the American Cancer Society. Other interests include sailing and working out, but her passions are socializing, movies, and singing. She describes herself as positive, outgoing, and kind. We have already seen these traits, as she has agreed to serve on the upcoming board.

Alice Andrews is a longtime resident of Corpus Christi having moved here from Houston in 1961. Her husband, Ralf is a geologist and his career brought them to the area. Alice is a retired piano teacher, who is enjoying her six grandchildren given to them by their five children. She is interested in reading, travel, movies, and gardening. Gail Drown moved to Corpus Christi in June of this year from Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her husband David’s job as project manager with Flint Hills Resources brought them to the area. They have three children, but are now “empty nesters”. Gail is originally from Edwardsville, Illinois and has worked as a hospital interface analyst. She enjoys shopping, food, art, computers, sewing, movies, and travel. She also plays golf, volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and church activities, plus really loves dancing with her husband! She is passionate about her church, interior design, and teaching computer science. Gail describes herself as social, compassionate, and friendly. Jean-Marie Welch and her husband Bill moved to Corpus Christi on May 25, 2006, from Scottsdale, Arizona. The desire to be closer to family brought them here. They are “empty nesters”, but very proud of their five grandchildren. Jean-Marie is the owner of Personal Poetry, Inc. and says her passion is writing custom poetry. Her husband is a retired physician. She is a native of Herscher, Illinois and volunteered as a board member of “ChildHelp”, of the greater Phoenix Chapter. In addition to her love of poetry, she describes herself as creative, blessed, and thankful. We at New Neighbors League are also thankful to be able to welcome Jean-Marie to Corpus Christi.

Sherry Kendrick moved to Corpus Christi in May of this year from Austin, Texas. Her husband‘s position with the Caller Times as the Director of Information Technology brought them to the area. Sherry is originally from Dunkirk, New York. They have eight grandchildren, the eldest being nine years old. Sherry is interested in dancing, golf, travel, food, and quilting. She has volunteered for the Women’s Shelter and Unwed Mothers facilities. She is passionate about hats and loves to attend tea parties, in particular, “High Tea”. She describes herself as kind, sensual, and adventurous. New Neighbors League welcomes Sherry and Steve to Corpus Christi.

Marsha Baxter moved to Corpus Christi in 1990 from Lake Jackson, Texas for a teaching job and love! (We’ll need the scoop on that story!) Her original hometown is Pittsburgh, PA and she is now a retired first grade teacher after 27 years. Her husband, Jim is the General Manager of Padre Staples Mall. Marsha’s interests include travel, movies, and art. She particularly enjoys crossword puzzles, keeping fit, and jet-skiing the canals. Also, she is a passionate reader. Marsha describes herself as sunny, artistic, and giving. We are very happy to welcome her to New Neighbors League.

Barbara Anderjack and her husband Steve moved to Corpus Christi from Jacksonville, Florida in April of this year. They have three children adult children. Steve’s career as a Commander in the United States Navy brought them to Corpus Christi. Barbara is originally from Mr. Vernon, Illinois and enjoys crafts, travel, sewing, movies, computers, food, and bowling. She is craft oriented and enjoys making cards, quilting, and needlepoint. Her passion is working as an advocate for mental health and retardation. She describes herself as “busy, bubbly, and bashful (not!)”. Gina Ogden and her husband Mark moved to Corpus Christ from New Orleans, Louisiana in January, 2006. Mark is retired from the Air Force and currently with Homeland Security. They have two children, Patrick, age eleven and Ashley, age twenty. Gina is originally from Miami, Florida and likes to travel, read, and shop. She is busy keeping up with Patrick’s activities at Incarnate Word Academy. Gina describes herself as friendly, helpful, and organized. Jamie Holzer, and her husband, Pete, moved to Corpus Christi in 1997 from Ft. Worth, Texas. She has two children and three grandchildren and is enjoying her home now with Pete and the Yorkshire Terriers they raise. Melanie Lee and her husband, Brett, moved to Corpus Christi in August of 2005 from El Dorado, Arkansas. She is a small business owner and an Aerobic Instructor at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club. She is originally from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Melanie has two sons, ages seven and three and the search for an outstanding Catholic school is what brought the family to Corpus Christi. Amy Matejka and Ken moved from New Orleans, LA in 2003 because of Ken's job. Amy is an attorney staying at home with Madison who is 6 1/2 mos. Ken is a Radiologist. Amy is interested in reading, shopping, crafts, movies and working out. She has a passion for spending time with her family. Amy describes herself as conscientious, caring, and loyal. Terrie Bodine and her husband Shawn moved here from Draper, UT because of her husband's job with Bath Engineering. Terrie's interest are photography, crafts, travel, gardening, and food. Carla Duling and her husband Jeff moved from Austin and previously St. Petersburg, FL. Carla is originally from Anchorage, Alaska. Carla is owner of Seaside Stained Glass and her husband is a technician with Koch Pipeline L.P. Her passion is stained glass, mosaics, and glass fusing. Carla's interest are photography, crafts, travel, movies, gardening, computer, art, and food. She learned about New Neighbors from Debra Hernandez. Gayle Keramian and her husband Varut moved from Baton Rouge, LA in 1989. Gayle is a retired school teacher and Varut is a retired Engineer. Juanita Powell introduced her to New Neighbors League. She is interested in reading, shopping, crafts, travel, gardening, and art. She volunteers with the Aid Care Team and Missions. Gayle describes herself as humorous and interested in world travel and cultures. We look forward to seeing her in the First Movie Club and the Antique Collectors Club.

Barbara Wendland moved to Corpus Christi in 2003 from Rockport, TX. She is retired from managing apartment properties, which she owns in Portland. Her children are grown, and she has 4 grandchildren. She enjoys shopping, travel, movies, eating out, and playing bridge. Barbara learned about NNL from Jennifer Oler and describes herself as quiet around strangers so be sure to visit with her.

Virginia Haasl - Virginia moved to Corpus Christi from Santa Rosa, California in July of last year. Virginia is originally from Milladore, WI. She heard about New Neighbors from Tammie Mathis, her neighbor. Virginia is retired but busier than ever landscaping her yard. Her interest is crafts, travel, and gardening. Virginia describes herself as intelligent, hardworking, and adventurous.

Stacy Korfist - Stacy and her husband, Matt, transferred to Corpus Christi from Redondo Beach, CA with Flint Hills. Stacy is a psychotherapist specializing in eating disorders and Matt is an engineer. They have twins, Samantha and Daniel, age 2. Her interests are shopping, crafts, travel, and food. Her sports of choice are running, skiing, and beach volleyball. She describes herself as passionate, creative, and tired (due to twins).

Sally Taylor - Sally moved to Corpus Christi from Tucson, AZ to be closer to family. She is originally from Collinsville, IL. Sally is a clairvoyant/reflexologist/Mary Kay Consultant. ESTELLE HICKS was introduced to NNL when her husband, Matt, gave an interesting program to our luncheon as Director of Broadcasting for the Hooks Baseball Team. Estelle is originally from Buffalo, NY, but they came here from El Paso with their son, Nathaniel, age 3. Estelle is looking for a teaching position. She is interested in reading, shopping, crafts, travel, movies and art. Her sports are tennis and swimming. Estelle describes herself as compassionate, thoughtful and fun.
MARY CARTER and Terry moved from Pascagula, MS, though she is originally from Illinois. She is Director of Physician Development at Christus Spohn, and he is CEO of the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. She is interested in reading, shopping, travel, gardening, computer, and art. She is active in biking and walking. Brought to NNL by Sally Galyon, Mary describes herself as workaholic, fun and straightforward. She has time for all this since her children are grown and gone.

ERIN PALMER comes from League City with her husband, Nick. He is a senior engineer with Celanese. Erin is originally from Cameron, MO. She isn’t currently working, but is looking. She volunteers as a literacy tutor for adults. Her interests include shopping, genealogy, crafts, travel, sewing, gardening computer and food. She spends time doing web design and crocheting. Coldwell Banker told her about NNL. Erin describes herself as talkative, creative and curious.

RENATA HUDSON and Jeff come here from Belgium with their 8 year old son, Joshua. She is a homemaker and Jeff is self employed. Renata is interested in cooking, shopping, travel, sewing and food, and she likes to work out. Her neighbor Jane Yates, introduced her to NNL.

AMY HURD and Dave brought their three children from Marietta, OH to the Northshore subdivision in Portland. She is a former elementary teacher, and he is operations manager with Degussa Engineered Carbons. She heard of NNL from a former member, Diane Loubiere. She considers her sport to be “watching my kids play”. She volunteers at their schools and enjoys time with family and friends. She is an avid photographer and loves making beaded earrings. WALLIE DEVILLE can be recognized by her interesting accent brought here from her home in Essen, Germany. She is a retired empty-nester who returned to Corpus Christi over four years ago. Our pleasant climate brought her back here. She in interested in shopping, travel, gardening, football (watching the game), and fashion. She describes herself as being interesting to talk to, so be sure to visit with her.

ANGELICA SANTILLAN comes to NNL from LaPlace, LA. She is an academic advisor at TAMU-CC and her husband, Edwin, is a structural /civil engineer. Their daughter Megan is six and a student at St. James Episcopal School. Angelica works full time, but her interests include photography, cooking, music, shopping, travel, movies, gardening, computer and food. Her neighbor, Sally Galyon introduced her to NNL. She describes herself as outgoing, friendly and caring.

MICHELE BOLICH is new from Oklahoma City, and comes with her husband, Gary, and sons Ben (15) and Zachary (2). Gary is a supervisor with Valelrus and Michele is a housewife/medical secretary. She describes herself as self motivated, easy going and quiet. Her interests are reading, travel, movies, gardening and the computer. Her mother is NNL member Gloria Lopez.

CARON CARBONE moved from Elkton, MD to Padre Island because of husband Steve’s job transfer with Boeing. Daughter Samantha goes to Flour Bluff Intermediate, and their three other children are living away from home. Caron found out about NNL from the Chamber of Commerce, but was also invited to a coffee by Mary Robinson. Originally from Darby, PA, she lists her sports as ice skating, biking and walking. She also enjoys gardening quilting, baking, movies, reading, food and crafts. Caron describes herself as organized, optimistic and artistic. She works at Driscoll’s Craniofacial & Cleft Center as treatment coordinator. She is already on NNL’s Ways and Means Committee.

LINDA MERKEL moved around with the Air Force, but is originally from Shelbyvill, IN. Her husband Wilfred is a retired Colonel working here with Probabo. Linda is interested in reading, shopping, crafts, travel, and sewing. She spends time with gemology and jewelry design. Linda is an empty-nester who describes herself as loyal, generous and compassionate. She came to NNL through Susan Andrews.

2005Welcome back to MARY FERRIS, a former member who is rejoining NNL. She is retired and her husband, Darrel, works as a veterinarian. They have one child at home, Thomas, age 16. You can tell from her email address what her favorite pastime is. (tennispersonstar) She came here from Marran, Iowa.

CYNTHIA PAGAN came here from Alvin, TX , but is originally from Port Neches, TX. She works at SAHM, and her husband Larry is Branch Manager for Hi-Tech Refractory Services. They have four children ranging from ages 2 to 22. Cynthia describes herself as a good listener, calm and quiet. She is interested in reading, shopping, crafts, travel, sewing, movies, computers, food and games.

SHARON LESTER arrived in Corpus from Connecticut with husband, Gordon, and two children, Sharodon (14) and Savannah (12). Gordon transferred here with Sikorsky Aircraft. She is a counselor and homemaker. Jennifer Oler brought her to NNL. Sharon participates in aerobics and describes herself as Mom, busy and eclectic. Her interests include reading, shopping, photography, travel, movies, art and food.

MARY BRANDMEYER’S husband, Ivan, transferred here from Lafayette, LA as a drilling engineer with Pathfinder Energy Services. Mary has worked as a legal assistant. She plays tennis and volunteers with Junior League of CC. She describes herself as fun, creative and loyal. What she really likes to do is spend time with her husband, especially on the beach. She also enjoys crafts, sewing, movies, travel and gardening. Mary was introduced to NNL by Irene Pratap.

We all know GLENDA FISCHER as the Town Club Lady, but she has retired from her work there and has rejoined NNL as a regular member. She was born here and describes herself as friendly, outgoing and dedicated. Glenda and her husband Pat are both retired now, and are empty-nesters. She wants to play more golf and volunteers her time at First United Methodist Church. She lists travel, gardening and food as her interests. Glenda enjoys cooking and entertaining, and loves dogs.

JUDY HOLLOWAY is a busy lady, an artist (oil painting) volunteering on the planning committee for the Festival of the Arts. She came to NNL via her friendship with DeAnn Gould-Lancaster. Judy and Joe are both retired empty-nesters from Boerne, TX. She was chief accountant for the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Antonio, and he was with Dillards. Judy describes herself as friendly, energetic and resourceful. They came to CC to be with their daughter and their first grandchild.

JOAN STOBIE is a former Navy nurse and husband Paul is a neonatoligist at Driscoll Hospital. They came last year from Albuquerque, NM but she grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska. She has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, but also enjoys reading, shopping, and crafts. Sons Brian and Stephen are off at college, and Michael is a junior at IWA.

ELIZABETH ‘LIBBY’ KILLGORE says she came to Corpus Christi for "beautiful place and old friends". Originally from California, she came here from Modesto, CA. The Portland Chamber of Commerce and Jill McKay encouraged her to join NNL. Libby spends her time with YWCA water therapy and loves to square dance. She is retired from Ambulance Dispatch work in San Francisco. She indicates interest in reading, genealogy, crafts and art. Libby has two grown sons. She describes herself as friendly, independent and true-blue.

MARY ROBINSON’S family came to Corpus Christi in August because of her husband, Dale’s transfer here as manager of Boeing Helicopter. Their children Teresa (14), Emily (13) and Michael (6) keep her busy. It is warmer here than their previous home, Wilmington, Delaware. Mary attends Curves, and is interested in crafts, art, food and shopping. She describes herself as reliable, friendly and cooperative.

RUBY GABELMANN has come to NNL from Vernal, Utah to follow her husband, Bill, who was transferred here as Production Manager at El Paso Energy. The stay at home mom is originally from Houston. Their children are Johanna (15) and Chris (9). Ruby’s interests include crafts, movies, bunko, and she spends her time volunteering at her children’s schools and at Bible study. She met NNL through Cathy Patterson, Mollie Zick and Joyce Seitz. Ruby describes herself as caring, loyal and organized.

comes from Odem and retired after 25 years as Tax Assessor-Collector for Calallen ISD. She has four children and five grandchildren to keep her busy. Ruth Miller brought Betty to NNL. Her interests include reading, shopping, crafts, sewing, movies and food. Betty is Christian, happy and retired.

originally from Quincey, MA, came with her husband, Jose, from BurrRidge, IL. He is a physician and they have two children at home – Alex (15) and Victoria (12), and three grown children. Carol Giglioti brought her to NNL. Active in her children’s school activities, she is also involved with her church and likes to travel, read, sew, and shop. A black belt in TaeKwondo, Doreen is looking for a place to start a school. She describes herself as helpful, sympathetic, and intense.

Mary Duncan came to Corpus Christi in July from Levelland, TX because of her husband Larry’s transfer here with Exxon-Mobil. She is originally from Hobbs, NM. She enjoys spending time with her four grown daughters and two granddaughters. Mary and Larry love to dance, and she is "game for anything". Irene Pratap introduced Mary to NNL. Her interests include crafts, travel, movies, gardening, art and food.

Sandra Richmond and her husband, Mark, came all the way from Silverdale, WA in 2001 to work with the Caller Times. He is the publisher of C.C. Business Journal, and she works there part-time. She spends her free time traveling, playing tennis and golf and walking when not volunteering with South Texas Institute for the Arts. Sandra is originally from Shreveport, LA and describes herself as energetic, friendly and out-going. Their three grown children have given them two grandchildren. Sally Galyon brought her to NNL.

Christi Cheek and her husband, David have two children: Kyle is 6 years old and Hayden is 4 years old. They came to Corpus from Rockwall (near Dallas) in April, 2003. They came here to raise their children in David’s hometown. Christi is a stay-at-home mom, and David works at Hogan Homes in New Home Sales. Irene Pratap brought Christi, who has already taken a job with NNL in scrapbooking. She also likes photography, crafts, travel, movies, gardening, art, food and shopping. She describes herself as friendly, outgoing and caring.
Donna Vickery returned to Corpus Christi in 1998 from Bangor, ME to be here with family. She is a realtor with Re/Max and is a volunteer at the Art Museum. Her hobbies include reading, watercolor, travel, and wine. She has a grown son, Billy, and one grandchild. Donna is a friend of NNL’s Sally Galyon. She is looking at clubs for travel, gardening, art and food.

Wendy Freeman and her husband, Brad, came from Ganado in August, 2001. They work together as the owners of The Woodhouse Day Spa. Her interests include crafts, golf, flower arrangements, decorating, gardening, shopping and movies. She is a friend of Irene Pratap and Christi Cheek. Wendy describes herself as fun, eager and energetic.

Linda Sassenrath came to Corpus from Washington, D.C. with her husband Tim, an Army officer and CCAD Commander. Their children are Kelly (17), Kari (15), and Kim (12). She is a pediatric RN and a homemaker. They arrived this past July, and she came to NNL with Jennifer Oler. Let’s give a warm South Texas welcome to Paige Timms, who comes to us from Fort Worth. She is a Certified Pharmacy Tech and her husband is a Market Manager for Black and Decker/Dewalt. Her interests include informational programming, education and youth leadership. She spends time with the internet, music, and British television programs. She found us through Economic Development when she moved here. She describes herself as resourceful, creative and outgoing. Paige and Martin have two sons, Logan (10) and Andrew (1). She will be looking for activities including reading, shopping, photography, crafts, travel, movies, computer, art and food.

Laura Leslie comes to us from Portland, ME – a long way. She is here with her husband, Stephan Gafford who is a pilot with the U.S. Navy. Laura works as an Oncology RN at Spohn Shoreline. Laura likes to swim and has volunteered in the past with The American Red Cross. Her interests include vegetarian cooking, yoga and hiking. Her path to NNL was through the Caller Times’ website. We’re glad to have Shelly Hemann, who comes to us from Brenham, TX, though she is originally from Gonzales, TX. She also came with her husband, Kevin, who was transferred here as District Manager for Vetco Gray, an oil and gas company. Her interests include reading shopping, photography, travel, movies, art and food. Other interests are wine, new foods, baking, plays and concerts. Her passions and pastimes are to be with family and friends. The CC Regional Economic Development sent her to NNL. Shelly describes herself as honest, fun and loving.

Let's welcome Linda Dorsey to New Neighbors. Linda and her husband Bonner have lived in Corpus Christi since 1969. She is originally from Stephenville, Texas, the home of Tarlton State University. Bonner is a retired judge from the Court of Appeals and Linda is a real estate broker for Dorsey Realty. Linda and Bonner have four wonderful grandchildren. Linda's passions and pastimes are reading, politics, and real estate. I guess we know what Linda was doing election night? A big hey and howdy to Ms. Catalina Longoria. She and her husband Richard relocated to Corpus Christi from San Diego, California in August of 2003. Richard is the News Director for KIII-TV 3 while Catalina is a Mary Kay Sr. Sales Director. Richard and Catalina are the proud parents of Chuck (20), Aaron (17), Candace (10), and Cattia (8). Catalina lists her special interests as public speaking and event coordination. We here at New Neighbors can more than accommodate those interests. Welcome Ms. Catalina Longoria.
The next addition to the New Neighbor family is Ms. Donna Hamilton. Donna and her husband Gil relocated to the Sparkling City by the Sea in 1990 from what she lists as "the Jersey side" of Philadelphia. Gil is a construction contractor while Donna has recently served as Interiors and Field Coordinator for Mr. J and Sons Construction. Donna and Gil are the proud parents to 2 children (Dana Marie and Andy) and the proud grandparents to 4 grandchildren. Donna has several interests that include reading, photography, crafts, sewing, gardening, art, shopping, genealogy, travel, movies, computer, food, and church activities that involve bible school. She says her sport of choice is surfing, the internet that is. We can credit our own Sally Moerhke for introducing Donna to our family. Let's welcome JoAnn Robertson to New Neighbors. JoAnn is a native Texan, originally from Weslaco. She and her husband Jim relocated to Corpus Christi from San Diego, CA in July of 1994 after her husband Jim retired from the Navy. Jim is currently the Assistant Purchasing Director for Del Mar College and JoAnn is retired from bookkeeping. JoAnn is grandmother to 4 grandchildren. There is one due in February of next year. That will keep her busy. JoAnn lists her interests as crafts, sewing, gardening, movies, Bible studies, and exercise. JoAnn's passion/pastime is needle work. JoAnn learned of NNL during Jazzercize from DeAnn and Irene. Is it just me or do we owe Jazzercize for a number of new members? JoAnn describes herself as quiet, but fun loving. Gwen Seeger and her husband Kevin relocated to Corpus Christi from Baton Rouge, LA on September 11, 2004. Gwen was immediately introduced to New Neighbors by our very own Lyn Kitchens on September 12, 2004. Great work Lyn! Kevin's job as Process Engineer for Flint Hills brought he and Gwen to our great city. Gwen herself is a network administrator and originally hales from New Orleans, LA. The couple has two daughters, Michelle (22) and Nicole (10). Gwen has listed interest in shopping, travel, computer, and food. She describes her passions as her family and politics with special interest in computers. Gwen uses outgoing, intellectual, and compassionate as three words to describe herself. A big Texas hello to our next new neighbor this month, Ms. Amy Carmel. She and her husband Mark were brought to Corpus in July of this year due to Mark's job as a US Coast Guard officer. Amy is a former medical technologist, but is currently employed by her greatest job of being mother to Margaret (10) and Eric (7). Her interests, passions, and pastimes include home decor, sewing, fiber arts, and fabric shopping. She has also expressed interests in reading, crafts, gardening, and art. New Neighbors should have several clubs that are right up your alley Amy. We can all thank Ms. Margie Schroeder for introducing Amy to New Neighbors. Julie Frum and husband R. David Frum arrived in Corpus in July of 2004. David's job as VP for Christus Spohn was the reason for this relocation. The couple moved to our beautiful city from Tennessee, although Julie is a native of Abingdon, PA. Julie is a homemaker who is kept very busy with Jessica (3) and Rachel (2 months). Julie states that her passion is God and her family. That is great to hear Julie. She lists interests in reading, travel, food, sports, music, and theater. Tammie K. Mathis and her husband Roy have relocated to Corpus Christi from Casper, WY. Tammie is originally from Wyoming, and was brought here in June of this year as result of her husband's job as Area Supervisor for Southern Texas for Hughes Christensen. Tammie herself is an occupational therapist and was a volunteer community member for an Ethics Forum for a medical center in Wyoming. Tammie and her husband currently have two children in college. This may leave Tammie a little extra time to pursue her love of traveling and reading. Tammie also mentions an interest in shopping, movies, art, food, and last but not least, professional football. Tammie learned of NNL through her realtor. Tammie describes herself as dependable, sincere, and loyal. It's great to have you Tammie.

Let's give a friendly New Neighbor welcome to Kimberly Cook. She and her husband Kresten have relocated to Corpus Christi due to Kresten's job as a CCAD Engineer. Kimberly herself is a school teacher for London ISD. Kimberly and Kresten have two children, Spencer and Trevor. Kimberly first heard of NNL from her mother (President Joyce Seitz). We all know that "mother knows best." Kimberly lists her interests as reading, travel, gardening, art, food, and exercising. NNL has clubs to cater to all of Kimberly's needs. A big Texas New Neighbor hello to Carol Gigliotti and her husband Richard who relocated to Corpus Christi from Montclair, NJ in June on 2004 due to Richard's job as Dean of Arts and Humanities at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Carol herself is a retired professor who is originally from Rochester, NY. She has two married children and states her passion is her granddaughter!! Carol learned of New Neighbors through a brochure mailed to her. Carol states that she would like to begin volunteering with new neighbors now. Now that's the kind of thing we like to hear. She currently volunteers as a board member of World Affairs Council of South Texas. Carol expresses interest in reading, shopping, crafts, travel, food, and the arts. Geoff's job as Asset Manager for Duke Energy brought him and Kathy to the Sparkling City by the Sea with their children Luke (11), Kent (9), and Ben (5). Kathy herself is a teacher, but currently chooses life as a domestic engineer. I'd say with three boys that keeps her more than occupied!! Hats off to our next New Neighbor this month. Heather Johnson and her husband Dr. Jeff Johnson relocated to Corpus Christi in 2002 due to job transfer and family. Jeff is a physician and owner of Bayside Medical Centers, while Heather is an RN who currently works in Managed Care for Driscoll's CHIP program. Heather has two step children, Ryan 16 and Sydney 14. Although it's quite obvious both stay very busy with their family and careers, Heather can find time for her interests in sports such as walking, hiking, weights, and volleyball. Heather lists her other interests as dancing and music with a fierce determination to learn about flowers that can survive this Corpus Christi heat. We welcome Lena Walker to New Neighbors. Lena is a native of Corpus Christi!! She and her husband Ralph (Buddy) reside in the Jackson Woods subdivision of Northwest Corpus Christi. Buddy is retired from the real estate business. He and Lena are empty nesters who enjoy motor homing. They have ten grandchildren! She has several interests including reading, shopping, crafts, travel, movies, gardening and computers. Lena also volunteers with the Corpus Christi Pregnancy Center. She describes herself as loyal, friendly and easy to talk to. Thank you for joining our group Lena. We look forward to many good times together!

Jane Cheesman is joining us from Batavia, IL. She heard about New Neighbors from her daughter-in-law, our very own Mary Jo Cheesman! Jane and her husband Bill moved here in June. Family and retirement brought them to Corpus Christi. Jane describes herself as sincere, dedicated and fun-loving! Jane's passions and pastimes revolve around her family. She has also expressed interest in joining Eaters Unlimited, Couples Dining Out and Bridge. Welcome to New Neighbors Jane!
We welcome Diane Van Maele to New Neighbors. Diane and her husband John moved here from Fort Worth and Plano in June. They are living in the the Lakes subdivision. Diane really loves children. Now that she and John have raised their own children Diane has chosen to become a pediatric resident at Driscoll Children's Hospital and John is a pilot with American Airlines. We have Sally Sacks to thank for introducing Diane to New Neighbors. Diane describes herself as determined, optimistic and brave! As busy as she is, she also enjoys reading, travel, gardening and food. Diane is interested in joining Couples Dining Out and Conversational Spanish. Welcome Diane!!!
Our next New Neighbor is Edna Baldwin. Edna and her husband Jim moved here from Mathis, TX. in May settling in Kings Crossing. Edna and Jim are empty nesters who have two grandchildren. Jim is a Land Developer. Edna really enjoys decorating and would like to join the Home Design Club. She would also like to join Conversational Spanish. Edna makes time for water aerobics and gardening. Her other interests include reading, shopping, travel and food. Thank you Joyce Seitz for introducing Edna to New Neighbors!

We also want to welcome Theresa Nyberg Christofersen to New Neighbors. Theresa moved here in May from Chicago, Illinois. She resides in King's Crossing and chose Corpus Christi for it's great climate, people and the city. Theresa was formerly a critical care R.N. and retired after twenty five years of service. Theresa enjoys staying fit through tennis, fitness routines and other exercise. She would like to join the tennis club (she may have already). Her other interests include reading, travel, movies and the computer. She describes herself by a quote from Winston Churchill "never give up". We have Theresa's realtor Laura Smith to thank for introducing her to New Neighbors.

Let’s give a big Texas hello to Jennifer Oler. She and her husband Pat moved to the "Sparkling City by the Sea" on March 7th of this year from Mansfield, TX due to Pat’s job as Deputy Commander CCAD. Jennifer herself is a native Texan whose original home city is Greenville. She and Pat have two children, a son and a daughter. Jennifer’s present occupation is school teacher, but it is apparent that her grandchildren are her passion. Jennifer heard of New Neighbors through DeAnn Gould-Lancaster while they were at Jazzercise. Jennifer’s other interests include reading, travel, art, food, decorating, and games. New Neighbors has been just what she is looking for. Jennifer describes herself as loving, energetic and organized. Sounds like she is just what the NNL of Corpus Christi is looking for. Let’s give a big New Neighbors welcome to Dana Tran. She and her husband, Chau, have relocated to Corpus Christi, from Fort Worth, TX as of April 2004. Dana, who is originally from Albuquerque, NM, came to Corpus as a result of her husband’s job as a nurse anesthetist. Dana learned of NNL from her neighbor and fellow NNL member, Celeste Guernsey. Dana says her interests and hobbies include reading, shopping, travel, movies, computer and food. She describes herself as fun, happy, and caring. We are so glad to have you in our NNL family.
